The laboratory “Geomatics for Cultural Heritage” (G4CH) is considered - in the area of Architecure at Politecnico di Torino - the reference point for the 3D metric survey as well as for the management/analysis tools of the built-up heritage. Several types of activities are carried out in the framework of the G4CH Lab: i) teaching activities for I, II and III level university courses, ii) applied research focused on multiscale scenarios at urban, landscape and heritage site level and iii) knowledge development and transfer (i.e. the “third mission”).
The G4CH laboratory is within the Department of Architecture and Design (DAD) and cooperates synergistically with other entities at Politecnico di Torino, including the department centers Full (Future Urban Legacy Lab) and Pic4Ser (Politecnico Interdipartmental Center for Service Robotics) as well as other Geomatics research groups.
Although the G4CH Lab is a physical place, it is considered a research group by its components, i.e. a venue for sharing experiences and carrying out new research tests.
